As a 5-year-old, DJ_Ura got his first turntable, growing up near by one
of the Belgrade's largest industry of musical recordings - PGP records. His favorite first vinyl toys in early eighties, soon became great musical collection including disco, funk, punk, metal and rock 'n' roll records.
DJ_Ura attended musical high school, playing accordion and piano, graduated from "Tesla" electro - technical high school in Belgrade, Sound engineering in Brighton, UK, and afterwards, TV production.Now, he is graduate engineer and associate of Institute for Sound and TV technology in Belgrade, and member of AES - Audio engineer society. That's the way it goes.
DJ_Ura started his professional carrier in 1994 , after coming back from Brighton where he was inspired by endless possibilities of electronic musical production . His extraordinary musical talent and enormous amount of energy ,elevate atmosphere in the club, hypnotizing crowd to dance till the morning sunshine with sounds of Hip Hop, Disco, Funk , Breaks and House music.
DJ_Ura 's professional style cruses thru festivals,clubs and beaches, recognizable by perfect control of mixing and wide range of House music.
The fusion thus far influnced by New York Funky,Freestyle Latin and French-Italian Disco House, the other way influanced by Croydon Tech , Spanish Beach Tribal ,Chicago Acid and Mansfield Progressive House. Playing two different styles , soon he became famous by his energetic sets on 3 turntables.Easily got residence in best - known Belgrade clubs and brought popularity to new ones, and he hosts radio show "LA BLEJAZ",
at Venus Radio 101.1 MHz FM, about clubbing and musical education.
"LA BLEJAZ" became one of most popular radio shows in Belgrade.
Unforgettable playing followed by percussionists turned out in 12 h set.
Dancing crowd, hypnotized by that rhythm and sound gave him nick DJ_URA , (means DJ_Hurray ), in Incognito club on 25th.March 2000.
In the following years, great international music festivals, venues and events took place in Serbia&Montenegro. DJ_Ura found his place at the
top of Serbian DJ scene, as one of residents @ EXIT, ENTRANCE, ECHO, NISOMNIA festivals, LATE NITE PRODUCTION , PLEASURES ,ZEBRA parties , lots of sponsors spectacles Pioneer CDJ , Stanton Final Scratch ,
Smirnoff Experience, Ready 4 red beat , Urban Experience clubbing ,and legendary clubs Bassment , Bar Fly , Cave , Barutana , Plastic , Malaya & Mogren Beach , Ghetto , Academy , Sound & Exille boats ...
Also, he played in major world cities and famous clubs:
Paris, London, Vienna, Zurich, Berlin, Moscow, Budapest, Rome, Brussels, Athens, Madrid, Prague, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Skoplje. Moreover, sandy beaches : Biarritz, San Sebastian, Crete
At the same time as DJ, DJ_Ura developed production skills, producing
Hip - Hop songs. When he started producing House music, he said:
"House is rhythm, bass and melody, everything else is freeride driving."
Together with his mate, young techno producer - Kobaya, he started a project RELAX FM, released on Fifth Sun Recordings from Canada.
The press wrote:
"'This tracks tears apart a dance floor whenever it's dropped. Essential."
"Relax FM" and "Graphite" took a place on charts of top DJ's in the world.
