on Glass Harmonica
This is a music video from Mor ve Otesi that uses old images from an old Russian cartoon called "Glass Harmonica". This cartoon was made by Andrei Khrjanovsky in 1968.Soviet censors found "Glass Harmonica" ideologically disturbing - the film became public more than 17 years after it was made. "Glass Harmonica" was the first animated film scored by the Russian composer Alfred Schnittke, who was to collaborate with Khrjanovsky on more than half of his films. The animators Yulo-Ilmar Sooster and Yuri Nolyev-Sobolev, were among the most important artists of the Soviet underground. Before finding refuge at Soyuzmultfilm, they participated at the famous and controversial Manege (opposite the Kremlin) exhibit of underground art which was closed down by Khruschev and condemned by Soviet press. 17.
